Sick PANTSSSSS.

Took last today and yesterday off of work to recuperate, and have spent a good chunk of the last 48 hours sleeping.

Maybe running around barefoot in the tide pools wasn't the best idea?
Or rubbing my nose a lot at Scandia after handling dirty, germy mini golf clubs?

I haven't had such an intense sinus cold in a long ass time. I'm all gooey and green and constantly headachey. It's the opposite of awesome!

And my ears are all clogged from some terrible attempts at nose blowing! SAD!

I have a tattoo appointment Wednesday, so I hope I get better in time. I don't wanna cancel it!

So far Adam has taught me three songs on the bass... one being "Story of My Life" (Social D), the other two...I don't remember. Oh yea, one of them was "Brim Full of Asha," which I had never heard before. Anyway, he's already a better teacher than the dude I was paying to teach me.

Ok, yea, I really have nothing to write about. I'm just bored and sickly.
Hope you're all feeling spectacular!

ADAM WISHES TO DEFEND HIMSELF!

Adam has now written an essay to contribute to the Great Marriage Debate of 2008.

The Great Marriage Debate of 2008

I would really like to hear some thoughts on this topic.

Adam and I were just discussing the whole hubbub over marriage equality, and he voiced an opinion that I have heard voiced by several other dudes (most recently Will), that marriage should not be something that is issued by a government. He believes that all unions bestowed by the government should be civil unions, and that marriage should be something separate left to churches and religious folks.

His argument is that he, as an atheist, does not want a "marriage" as marriage is something that he finds inextricable from religion. And, furthermore, he believes that changing marriage into civil union across the board will ensure equal rights for all to recognition of their unions, and will keep religious whackos at bay. They can have their "marriage" but it will not be recognized as something that gives them any rights as a couple. They will have to also get a civil union.

What do you folks think about this, and what do you think about the plausibility of leaving "marriage" to churches and having the government issue civil union licenses instead? Is marriage simply an issue in which church/state have become too confounded?

Discuss.

WOOHOO! They gave me one more day a week of work! It now will be Friday-Monday (so, Friday night thru Tuesday mornings).

That makes it like 38 hours or something which is SO close to full time.

Also, they would like for me to start Friday!
Busy week ahead!

I find myself fending off the weirdest people lately. One night it's the 50 year old presumable pedo at Long's at 10 at night, the next day I try to read downtown and it's a 20-something, perma-stoned, half-stache guy.
I'm also fighting away the depression now that I'm not constantly busy and Adam is gone.

He got a really positive response from the PD at the Austin alternative station and they want to hear a whole show (you send in a mashup of a bunch of stuff initially), and that's realllllly fucking awesome. Maybe Austin, Texas is on my list of things to do now? I don't know.

Here's a POEM!

Pressed my thighs into the carpet,
prepared to listen to the soundtrack of calm,
blowing through the threads and mussing my hair.
A strain of Mr. E delicately blends
with the fan's whispered erasure of early summer heat.

The comfort of familiar whiskers glides
by the back of my palm as I write,
relax my claws, and think of counting down
the sunset, New Years eve, and birthday celebrations
to a slow tune on the guitar.

Like climbing to the moon
and passing thru my little nightmare, by your side,
while cat hair blows like confetti through the air
and notebooks with half written poems
grow warped and dusty, mouldering in darker times.

Herald Square lamentations melt like snow,
and seventy mile long suicide missions
speed off with glowing red lights down Peninsula highways.
The antiseptic comfort of lingering kisses?
I never feel alone now, because in my heart you're always here.

Atonement made my heart hurt.

On an even less intellectual note:
It should win an award for best sex scene in a movie. ever.

Because it's been a long time since I've done one of these: a picture heavy post.
Yesterday Mike and I woke up at ~8AM and spent the entire day making use of his Mom's art supplies over at the compound. Until he fell asleep and I spent the evening doing art with/making pipe cleaner creatures with/making cookies with Ty's little one, Allison. Allison is a wee badass.

Anyway, pictars! (beware: they're HUGE because ... I like it that way...)

I am in such an excellent mood right now, which is a huge improvement over earlier today.  I guess I just needed to trot about in the sunshine, it's been so amazingly beautiful.  Way too hot, but beautiful nonetheless.  I sat down and took my compy out solely to make this post, and then a naked man walked by.  With his eyes closed.  With his pants in his hands. Also, ankle warmers...like wrist warmers...but on his ankles.  Now he is sitting on the grass with his hands in prayer position shaking forward and backward.  I think he is on teh meths.  It's actually kind of depressing, but I assure you it was simply entertaining when I first saw his junk bounce by.

He has "666" tattooed on the back of his right arm, and that is hard.

It's a really good thing that this campus is so beautiful.

I bought a Cambridge scarf, Cambridge won.

Coincidence?

I think not.

Wow.

Today was intense and exciting!
I walked for the entire 4 mile length of the Thames. I am so fucking tired.
Holy crap.
So many pictars.
More later, it's almost my bedtime.
For now, I'll leave you with this:

buttbutt

Even though I didn't root for them, I can appreciate their bums.
